New York: The Second Amendment Under Attack
A journalist in Ithaca, New York, tells her story about trying to get a gun permit. “A 20-month waiting period for a pistol permit in Tompkins County is too long to wait for a gun and doesn’t keep anybody safer. That’s how long it will take me — a person with no criminal history and no mental illnesses — to get a permit.” For details, read http://bit.ly/1KmrBnu
The Presidential Debate System Under Attack
Presidential hopeful Carly Fiorina says she should be on the main stage at the next Republican debate and that the rules news organizations are using to decide who appears at the events are fundamentally flawed. That’s because CNN will pick the top 10 based on polls that include those before the first debate in which Fiorina was in the second tier. After her performance in the second tier debate, her support has surpassed at least Gov. Chris Christie and Gov. John Kasich. She’s right. She should be on the center stage.
