The Terrorism Research & Analysis Center provides good data about the refugee crisis. “Much has been made in the media of the Islamic State taking advantage of the refugee crisis by disguising their operatives within the migrant community in order to enter Europe undetected. To date, there are six reported incidents of the Islamic State trying to infiltrate Europe by hiding within the refugees. Reports from smugglers working with the Islamic State suggest that there are dozens (if not hundreds) of returning foreign fighters that have already made the passage back home camouflaged as refugees. However, it cannot be stressed enough that at this point in time, the proportions of known Islamic State militants that have ‘passed’ as refugees are minuscule compared to the legitimate number of victims fleeing from civil war.”

ABC News reported that the Pentagon has confirmed “it is investigating allegations that U.S. Central Command’s intelligence assessments of the progress of the war on ISIS was distorted to provide a more optimistic picture.” See more at http://on.wsj.com/1MdDfA6

Townhall’s Cliff May weighs in with his views: “The Western media are reporting on the migration as a humanitarian issue, which it is. Western political leaders are responding to it on that basis as they should. But to ignore or even give short shrift to the long-range geostrategic ramifications of this population transfer from the blood-soaked Middle East would be a mistake of historic proportions.”
