CNN founder Ted Turned received a lifetime achievement award and got in a few digs toward the management at Time Warner. Turner said the company offered him a new, million-dollar contract to do nothing. “You can take the million dollars and shove it you know where,” Turner said.

English First?

Critics of an English-first policy complain that it is racist, but just 19% agree that requiring people to speak English is a form of racism or bigotry. Seventy-two percent (72%) say putting English first is not racist or bigoted, according to a poll from Rasmussen. Seventy-three percent (73%) of Likely U.S. Voters believe that when people move to the United States from other parts of the world, they should adopt America’s culture, language and heritage. Only 15% think newcomers should maintain the culture, language and heritage of their home country. Twelve percent (12%) are not sure.

Russian Critic Ousted

A leading critic of Russian President Vladimir Putin has been ousted from his legislative seat. Lev Shlosberg was branded the lawmaker as “a mouthpiece of the U.S. State Department.” For details, see http://bit.ly/1VreX8c
