“They’ve shut down Market Street, man!!!

“ESPN and ABC, that is.

“Four huge tractor-trailer trucks loaded with TV gear and accessories – including tenting [sic] and a nice gas grill  – have totally blocked off the 500 block of Market Street  (with cooperation from Philly police) to unload and setup [sic] for coverage of Saturday’s Temple-Notre Dame football game.”

I can’t remember when ESPN came to Philly for much of anything since the Phillies won the World Series in 2008.

I had the opportunity to watch five national championships for my alma mater, Nebraska. I doubt Temple will reach that height.

But I think the Owls can beat Notre Dame. I will not take solace in a loss if Temple doesn’t do well. Football is about winning and losing. Nevertheless, I also don’t take solace when the hacks fail to take pride in what the Owls have accomplished. The team is 7-0 for the first time in history and slammed down Penn State for the first victory in four decades.

I am Temple Proud!
